The Fantasticks The World's LONGEST running musical!

The Fantasticks tells the story of a young boy and girl who
fall madly in love at the hands of their meddling fathers, but soon grow
restless and stray from one another. Will their separation provide a
deeper appreciation for the love they once shared—or create a permanent
gulf between them? The Fantasticks is a quintessential celebration of love in all its gorgeous simplicity and heartbreaking complexities.
CAST BREAKDOWN
- El Gallo (the Narrator/Bandit) - 30 - 50 years old
- Matt (the Boy) - 17 - 30 years old
- Luisa (the Girl) - 17 - 30 years old
- Hucklebee (the Boy's father) - 30 - 60 years old
- Bellomy (the Girl's father) - 30 - 60 years old
- Henry (The Old Actor) - 40 - 80 years old - very little to no singing
- Mortimer (the man who dies - an actor, pretending to be an American Indian) - 30 - 60 years old - very little to no singing
- The Mute (who at times acts the part of the Wall) Male or Female - 17 and up years old- no songs/no lines - need a strong movement person
Auditions will be held at Gilbert Theater on Monday, July 2 and Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from 7pm-9pm. Please email artisticdirector@gilberttheater.com to make an appointment. Those without appointments will be seen as time permits.
Performance dates are September 20-October 7, Thursday-Saturday at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm (12 performances total) Audition and production team information: Director: Robyne Parrish, Artistic Director Accompanist: TBD Stage Manager: Kristy Dupre’ Please arrive at your appointed time. Auditions will begin promptly at 7pm. You can bring a head shot if you have one available, but it isn't required. You should prepare a solo OR a short monologue. Preferably music from the show but you may bring another selection if you like. Please provide sheet music for the accompanist. If you do not have an appointment please arrive as early as possible.

AUDITIONS FOR GILBERT GLEE CLUB Auditions for the first Gilbert Glee Company will take place July 4th and 5th and August 6 and 7 (Monday and Tuesday) at the Gilbert Theater. The Glee club is for kids ages 8-15 who want to pursue performance on any level. They should prepare one song acapella (no sheet music required). Gilbert Theater is physically located at 116 Green Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301in the same building as the Fascinate-U Children’s Museum. Our entrance is on the Bow Street side of the building. Parking: On weekends and during the week after 5 you can park in any of the spaces around the theater, with the exception being the clearly marked handicap and fire spaces.
